YouTube Caption Auto-Fill

When you type a caption, ShortSync can automatically fill in your YouTube title and description. Choose which fields get auto-filled based on your workflow.

The Three Modes

DescriptionDefault

Your entire caption is copied into the YouTube description field. The title field stays empty for you to fill in manually.

Caption:

Check out this amazing sunset timelapse! #sunset #timelapse

YouTube Title:

(empty - you fill this in)

YouTube Description:

Check out this amazing sunset timelapse! #sunset #timelapse

Title

Your caption is copied into the YouTube title field (truncated to 100 characters). The description field stays empty.

Caption:

Check out this amazing sunset timelapse!

YouTube Title:

Check out this amazing sunset timelapse!

YouTube Description:

(empty - you fill this in)

Split

The first line of your caption becomes the YouTube title, and everything after goes into the description. This is great if you write your captions with the title on the first line.

Caption:

Sunset Timelapse in 4K

Check out this amazing sunset I captured last weekend.

#sunset #timelapse #4k

YouTube Title:

Sunset Timelapse in 4K

YouTube Description:

How to Change

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find the Advanced Settings section
  3. Under YouTube Caption Auto-Fill, choose Description, Title, or Split

Note: Auto-fill only runs while you haven't manually edited the target field. Once you type in the YouTube title or description directly, auto-fill stops overwriting that field for the current upload.
